2011 Spring Bear

Looking for some help on how to locate bears in the spring i always see alot of bears during the season but have never felt the need to hunt them, but for some reason this coming spring seems like a great time to try and get a good bear. how do you guys go about finding bears in the spring what should i look for and what is a good way to judge a bear.....thanks for the help.

Never do a spring bear hunt, but in are fall season in MN we sit on baits which you may not be able to do but in judging a bear look for short legs and a deep belly that appears to drag on the ground. Ears on the sides not the top. If he kind of waddles with his feet toed in, instead of walking smoothly good signs of big bear. Take your time to judge, my bears come in so close I can tell shooter or not in 5 seconds. Good luck

Did you read this thread? Some good advice in there. As far as judging them.... they usually aren't as big as they look. The truly big ones... you won't ever have to guess.

spring bear huntin in e .oregon,,,so far ,very little activity found? anybody else having better luck out there?seems like either they are way low or inactive at the 4500 ft level?slow green up this year.
