Meathead:

Things are even closer than that. I will officially retire on June 30th of this year, in about 3 months. Then I will start getting my pension.

We have the option of working a "transition year" because of a critical shortage in my career field. During the transition year we get our pension plus our full time pay too. The deal is just too good to pass up.

I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to arrive.
