$200 Scope Options

I like the glass and reticle on the TriMOA VX Freedom.
Don't care for the turrets.
Not sure on the tracking.

Find an older VX-2. Not alpha, but in that range, tough to beat. I have a few that I've abused some. One of them has lived atop a .300 RUM for a long time. Was always going to upgrade, but it just keeps working for me. In my opinion, great scopes for the money. mtmuley

Yep. Fixed 10x would be a bit too much for most hunting scenarios. I think they also offer a 6x and 8x, which might be ok.

I think you just need to figure out if/when you'd be dialing. If it's mostly a target/range gun then fixed power is just fine. If it's a hunting gun, you may want a variable or lower powered fixed.

At your price range, you kinda have to choose between reliable tracking and variable power.

Nothing wrong with a fixed 6X for hunting if you can do you judging with bino’s or a spotter.
