Does anybody know of a Mfg who produces a 3" 20Ga shell with buckshot around #1, or #0 ? All I've been able to find are 2 3/4" shells loaded w/ #3.

No, the heaviest load I’ve ever seen was 3” #2 and I haven seen them in a long time.

They use 3 buck because it’s the only size that fits well in the wad. It’s in layers of three. Buckshot sizes in each gauge are about stacking patterns.

If it’s any consolation, 4 buck is good for deer to farther than most people will shoot it, and it was also preferred by many over 00 against humans for close quarters work in Vietnam.
