One of the upgrades I'm making to my "Sleeping Quarters" in my horse trailer is going to be adding a portable 12v cooler to my camping gear, running off of the power station I built from a LiPO4 100Ah battery. It will reside under the foldable step that will serve as a step into the gooseneck portion, camp stool and mounting block.

I'm looking for economical brands and models of 12 v that will fit within the footprint more or less under the above footstool. So under 38-39 inches long, under 18 inches tall, and not much wider than 15-16 inches

What brands and sizes will fit under this this ? Any of them Dual zone with freezer and Refrigerator zones?

I’ve had this one, purchased off amazon for the past 3 years:

EUHOMY 12 Volt Refrigerator, 47QT Electric Cooler, 12V Fridge APP Control, 12V Cooler -4℉~68℉, Portable Freezer 12/24V DC 110-240V AC for Camping, Travel, Truck, Home https://a.co/d/85BgmAi

I am impressed. No need for ice is a real game changer. My wife and I are able to put 3 days worth of fresh food into it and go 100% off-grid camping with no problems. Couple steaks, chicken, fresh pasta and pasta sauce, fruit, eggs, lunch meat… we eat well when we go camping.

I have a couple of large Yeti-coolers that go unused now - the e-coolers are just plain that good.

The one I have is a dual zone. We made ice cubes on one side and kept all the other food on the large side. On other trips we’ve just used the whole thing as a single zone style. It’s nice to be able to use it both ways.

Final note: the model we got came with both 12v and 110v adapters. Which rocks. Plug it in at home on 110, let it get fully cold a day or two before a trip…fill it with food and let everything stabilize overnight and it draws even less juice plugging it in.

Anyway, huge fan of the e-coolers and the Euhomy brand has worked great for me over the past 3 years.

Ask an 18 wheeler driver. You'll get a lot of different answers, but you'll find info and reviews by the actual users. When my dad drove he had one that sat upright and had a large door like a fridge. But, truckers will have opinions and recommendations.

I have an iceco. Had it for about 3 years now. Used it a ton. I have a duel zone. Recharges with a solar panel. Still kicking butt.

Thanks folks.... I went with the BougeRV Rocky 41QT It just spoke to me.....and fit in the footprint I needed. MSRP was $549. Through year end sale and new years coupons and free shipping I had it at my door in two days for a few cents over $390 after tax. Don't think i could get an equivalent Yeti for that...

@Robert N i had that one on my short list, but I needed one under 18" tall. thank oyu for the personal recommendation

Report back after you've had it a while and let us know what you think. I can see with the way battery banks are progressing and portable solar panels are improving that you could be out in the middle of nowhere surfing the internet on your starlink mini and sipping a cold one fresh out of the 12V cooler.

We are typically hauling the new 5th wheel with a propane fridge and we just swap ice packs out for the mini cooler in the truck. This might be an option if I was going somewhere the 5th wheel couldn't go.
