Wow, is she excited! We will hunt pronghorn in WY Unit 17. We spent some time last weekend packing our backpacks. It promises to be an adventure because I don't know anything about pronghorn hunting and we have no connections thus we will rely upon public land (which is limited in that area)!
Last spring I got to thinking, before long she will be in college. After that she will have a career, family etc. I only control her life for a few more precious years. So we got antelope tags and will just have a dad/daughter hunt. My only worry is the access to public land deal. I have OnX and know how to use it, but I really hope we have some opportunities where we can actually hunt. I am sure we will see a million on private land and not be able to do anything about it. For sure we are not looking for huge bucks. I have heard a bunch of people say don't shoot the first buck you see ...well guess what....she will shoot the first buck she sees. I will wait to fill my tag until after she gets hers filled, but I think I will shoot the first buck I see after she has hers as well.
We practiced with the .243 she will be shooting and I was pretty proud of her. I wouldn't want her to shoot at my prized apple, that is for sure! I actually don't have a prized apple....I am just sayin'....if I did....
