Awesome man. Sounds like you know your body well. That's my point mostly, know your body. If you can stand to loose weight it can help a lot with a heavy pack and cost no money. I'm a poor man, I need cheap ways to improve my abilities, lol. -

I agree. I haven't done more than a few miles but if all the animals I'm looking for turned out to be 10 miles in, then I'm going 10 miles. -
ISO Hunting buddy
To help with the wife concerns, spend the money and get a Garmin sattelite communicator. I'm a poor man and it was a tough amount of money to spend but me being able to text her at any time really helped ease her mind. She can look on the map and see when I'm moving and helps her feel way... -

How much importantance when your Escouting do you put into the Elk concentration areas marked on the Colorado state atlas or On X Maps? I mean, if an area appeared to meet all your criteria you look for but on the OnX map the concentration area layer was say a mile or 2 off, would you still... -

Colorado results must be coming any moment
Congrats to everyone that got a tag! Applications must have went way up cause I put in a 100% draw odds unit and did not get it. Looks like just deer this year. -

I agree with you. More people applying is good for hunting and great for CPW. It's just a bummer for my draw odds with very few points. Which I like to complain about. Lol. In the end I always hunt some place but I really enjoy my CO trips.- MW357

I read the article and contacted a friend I know at CPW. The increase in applications for Elk jumped up why more than anyone expected. I'm told the days of getting a tag with 0 to 5 points are probably over. I predict that OTC tags will probably be reduced in the future to provide more tags...- MW357

Yes that is the 640 acres. Thanks for help on explaining. I did some research also and yes the Wilderness Area designation should help keep out motorized travel which I think is OK for some areas like this. I'm learning more and trying to stay in tune with whats going on with our public lands...- MW357
