Personally I would go with a scope that is tough and reliable. There are inexpensive guns that you don’t mind beating around and will still be accurate. The same, generally speaking, can’t be said the same for a scope. My idea of a truck gun is one that you can depend on even if it looks rough.
Can you all remember before OnX, when you had to use a topographical map and a compass? Do you remember the places you could go and not see anyone else? I admit I use it and like it but it opened up a lot of areas to those who weren’t comfortable or not motivated enough to learn navigation...
It isn’t what it used to be. I used to have more places to hunt than I could count. Now everyone is leasing out this land. I am down to 2 places and know that one day they will be gone as well. Unless I hit the lottery (which I won’t because I don’t play) or someone sales me land cheap, my...
Haven’t been in the woods here in Indiana this year, which is very unusual for me. New job, and warm weather have kept me from getting to excited about going.
Didn’t sleep worth a crap last night, and at 5a.m. I was staring at the ceiling fan in our bedroom. Well it is a cool morning and the...
You are correct. If you switch from shooting lead core bullets and don’t clean your bore you won’t have the accuracy you are looking for. I have experienced this and know others that have as well.
You didn’t step on any toes. Never post any unit for public view or pictures with easy identifying land features. That info has ruined many good units. There is a ton of info out there to help you out for free and it is easy to find. Stick around here, see how we interact, and you’ll catch...
If you followed SFC B post you probably got most of this but I will share a bit anyway.
SFC B picked Dave and I up at the airport. Dave had just got back from Alaska salmon fishing and had a terrible cold but was feeling better each day.
Opening day was good and wet. We were watching...
After switching to unleaded years ago I was a Barnes bullet fan. They never let me down but had some kills where the animal went a bit further than I expected. After reviewing the terminal performance of Hammers and the accuracy people were getting I wanted to try them. I had a new rifle that...
I have shot them all and own most of them. The 7mm08 is just the perfect all around cartridge. I bought one for my wife and I use it when she will let me. If I can find one in a 1-8 twist I will by it for myself.
We had a blast! Went by to quick. Thank you Brother Born for you sweet driving skills and meat packing. I am still laughing at the pasture poodle you sent into orbit from your 22-250🤣
Told my wife a week ago that I will need to mowe soon. Well the monsoon season kicked in full gear so when it dries out I will probably be needing a bail it. Mowing the biggest waste of time and money there is!
I have a PH2 in 7 Rem Mag. I was kicking around the 7PRC they both have the same twist rate. I have all the dies for the 7 Mag so what would I really gain going with the PRC. Glad I went with the 7 Mag. It is very accurate.
