First time pronghorn hunt looking for a tag

I would recommend looking at a doe antelope tag to add on to your elk hunt. Tags are very affordable for a non resident and it will open a lot of options for areas you could go. If you are set on a buck tag you are probably going to need to look at the central eastern side of wyoming for a 0 PP...

    Weather Information

Looking for some recommendations from folks on finding good information for current weather conditions. I am always looking at weather.com or accuweather for nearby towns to where my hunt areas are but figure their might be some better ways to get actual weather a little closer to hunting...

    Onx question

I have the S7 edge and with all apps shutdown except onX and occasional kindle use I will charge 1 or 2 times off of a battery pack in that time frame. I would go the battery pack route and just charge in camp at night.

So I did a thing yesterday...

Another suggestion, all that magnification could be driving some bad habits. Try dialing back down to 10x and try your groups at that. If you are really interested in shooting technique look into the book long range shooting handbook by Ryan Cleckner. A quick read with some good tips and pointers.

    Let's see your antelope rifle.

That Winchester is a fine looking set up, always liked rolling block actions since i was kid shooting one of my grandpas old .22s

    Bugs

I don't have extensive knowledge of the tick situation. I hunted same area last year at the same time and didn't have any issue with either. I am sure someone local will chime in soon, but my guess is it won't be as big of a concern as where you are in MN.

    Citric Acid

You will be fine without any type of spray. Keep it clean and put it in a bag and you won't have any worries.

Who's huntin WY speed-goats this year?

Snagged a couple tags for a stop out on the way to our elk area this year. Hoping we can fill some doe tags for some good eating in elk camp.

    Wyoming drawing

Dove_hunter introduced my wife last year and set her up with a .243. Trying to keep recoil to a minimum to develop good habits I set her up with a .243 and the Hornady reduced recoil loads in i believe 95 grains. Those loads surprised me with their accuracy and were very effective on the...

    Colorado unit 7/8

I would start by calling the hunt planner. They can give you local office names and numbers. Probably some other possible leads as well...

    Colorado unit 7/8

First steps would be to call all the local government officials in that area that you can Game Warden, Biologist, BLM office, etc. Go into the conversation with a game plan and some specific questions to draw out the information in which you are interested. Generally speaking that will likely...

    Ideas on bugle tubes

Not an expert by any means but I recently went through trying to weigh all the options and wound up going with a tube and diaphragm. Just for less pieces to deal with i liked it better. You could always get something like the select a bull from rocky mountain calls and ditch the mouthpiece if...

    Wyoming Unit 98 bear question

Was wondering if anyone had any insight into the overall bear activity (the big brown ones) in unit 98. From what I see and can dig up it seems like that area is the border of true grizzly country but has had increased sightings over the last few years. I drew a limited tag there this year and...

First pronghorn hunt and wife's first western adventure

Definitely a cool lady. Yeah her buck's tips actually overlap by about 1 inch, you can see on the lower horn where a groove was worn over the season. I thought it was a pretty unique buck when we first saw him and part of the reason we decided to try and go after him first.
