Labs cause issues when not exercised. I know it's not easy to do all the time. It's an owner issue, and I am guilty too. Run them and chewing, digging, barking issues disappear.
I don't feel too bad about it. It's not like Freezout or Medicine Lake. For example birds roost the entire Bighorn. They might shy away from the Bighorn during the day, but they sit on every inch of it at night. Opening the Yellowstone would be the same way. It's primarily a late season...
Just wondering.... are you wanting training for pointing or flushing? You've got a bit of both in that pup. I'm interested because I'm thinking about getting a lab from a pointing breeding but only wanting it for flushing purposes.
My boys after a great rooster shoot. Trump, the yellow dog is a rooster machine. Tank, the black lab is a sandbagger (12 yrs old) but can mark fallen rooster hundreds of yards out. They are a great team.
In my limited lifetime experiences, males are less grudge holding and diabolical. Females are smarter and earn the name #$ches when they get their feelings hurt.
