I am, same name, about the only place I actively post besides here. I agree with others' sentiments, good website, but there's definitely a couple folks that can detract. That can happen anywhere. The moderation I've seen has been good. The one thing I really like is we try to police the...
I've had the OR crocs and have the Kuiu Yukon, I run the Sitka Flash ones when I don't need full height waterproffness. For me, the OR's are too loud and the fit on them was extremely poor, very sloppy compared to the Kuiu, which is also much quieter. I have a friend who runs the Sitka gaiters...
I'm in Great Falls - unless Scheels got them in this week, they aren't carrying them here (they have Eberlestock). I know Schnees had quite a few down there in Bozeman a few weeks ago, but they could have sold them all online.
You could always buy a new yoke from the for something like 50 bucks, assuming they still sell them separately. Not the cheapest route but you really want it to fit....as far as the nice frame belt, might be hard to to get a bigger size to tighten up enough when you chuck some weight in there...
They are nice, but their marketing is a turnoff - they have a lot of negative stuff regarding the TAG bags (they don't come right out and say it....) which is just stupid. But they are carried everywhere, so super convenient. That little reflector tag is worth it's weight in gold honing in on...
Hey does anyone know if you can get seminar tickets at the door? Wasn't planning on going but some things freed up for me, so I'm heading to Missoula early tomorrow morning.....hoping to pop in and catch the talks during the day. Thanks all!
I got to check out the new frame in person yesterday - just picking it up compared with the NICE frame makes you smile. One thing that I haven't read or noticed in pictures is the use of hypalon to.give more flex to the aeembly (torsionally, not vertically). That part is very impressive...
It works great and is very fast at acquiring signal, no iskies gerring 5 days out of mine on one charge. The subject app and a phone are game changers to me, and the new update to 3.0 really adds to the features. I use my phone with a Delorme InReach, perfect pair.
It would be great for anything over 5 days.....but that is a lot of pack otherwise. They say that more because the Metcalf is all you need up to a week, you could suck a Marshall down and be fine. Just depends on if you want to carry the extra weight all of the time. That is a screaming deal...
New frame looks really interesting, in a good way. Glad they stuck with their yoke system, that's one of their best features. Anyone know what the main stay material is? Looks like it's a little more flexible and follows the contour of your back as it goes up (under load) in the Montana Wild...
