i hunted down that way several years ago south between ashland and the wyoming border. i was just wondering if anyone has been down in that country this past hunting season? ive seen burn maps but not sure how accurate they are. wondering about how much of the national forest burned, blm, etc.
i drew a montana antelope tag this fall and was considering trying to stop in wyoming on a leftover whitetail doe tag coming home. unit 17 and 18 have quite a few leftover. yes, i know limited access is the reason such tags are normally leftover. im more familiar witht the tags in the black...
Thanks. I don’t get to go near as often as years ago. Drawing most any tag has gotten a lot harder out west thanks to the internet. Just thankful to have a tag to enjoy that atmosphere for a few days this fall.
I know they square your points, but if I have 3pts and someone putting in with me has 0 we technically have 1.5. does anyone know if montana round them up or down?
Heading up in a couple weeks with my wife and daughter for antelope. Looking to find a couple things to do with my wife, besides hunt, aside from the hunt? Can’t remember what all is there. Any suggestions?
I think the tag increase had a lot to do with it. the antelope unit I put in for last year had roughly 500 apps in the NR reg and about 200 in the NR sp. this year it the percentage swung big time toward the regular tag. sadly my dad and I missed out by .5 points of drawing
with 2 surgeries on a bad foot, im looking at getting some of those poles I see everyone using on the shows. seems like a good investment with my bad foot. im sure its like everything else, you can buy cheap or pay over price for them, but can someone recommend some good affordable ones? I know...
ive read it several places that people expect point creep to continue. last year was the last year of the "cheap" license before the price increased. i read then that everyone would likely dump their points before the price hike. now I'm reading the same after the hike. ive been applying for...
I’m a nonresident, love hunting Montana and am ALL FOR shortening the season. Who doesn’t like shooting a buck in the rut? I do, but I really enjoy having to actually “hunt” for an animal, walking in, glassing them up, having to stalk on or try to catch them to and from food.
Actually I have been watching the weather conditions but just like this post and several others, it’s hard for some to judge because there are always people saying “the deer are fine”, “the deer are doing bad”, etc
Kinda hard to expect us “shoot everything” NR people, that sent their money in a couple months ago for a $675 tag(with pp), not to come hunt regardless of the conditions. If FWP would give me a 100% refund I would definitely hold off , but they love our money too much.
