    Youth Season Success!!

We've not caught a bullet in about a 1/2 doz deer and a pronghorn. All of exited and they appear to expand regardless of hitting bone or thick muscle. This deer made it the furthest after the shot, about 70yds. Didn't look for blood at the shot site, but found it easily enough where he jumped...

    Youth Season Success!!

He's definitely grown in the last year. I pretty much look him eye to eye now. My wife's not a big person, but looks very small next to him. This was in May... Untitled by Tyler Staggs, on Flickr

    Youth Season Success!!

Just now getting this post up, as I had a few issues getting pictures loaded up. Youth season in Indiana is always the last full weekend in September. This year was the first year I've had/used trail cameras. We've been getting enough pics of good enough bucks that excitement was growing as...

    Jon Boat

Very well done!! That's a cool as hell project! Something like that, or even a bit shorter, would be perfect for the pond we built last year.

    What to cook first?

I love smoked bologna. I take the rind off, cross hatch it with a knife, rub it very liberally with yellow mustard and then coat it with you're favorite BBQ rub. Smoke until you want to eat it. Cut into cubes and provide BBQ sauce, ranch, and horseradish sauce for dipping.

    What to cook first?

We totally dig pizza on the BGE, but I get it super hot and NO smoke. IME the smoke ends up in the dough and it didn't like it.

    Powder from pulled bullets

It's faster. When I'm making up a large batch of reloads, I use a powder thrower which also works on volume. I check about every 5 or 10 on the scale and if it's within reason keep chugging along.

    Getting into suppressors

This is way if I break loose of the funds, one of a reflex design will get a hard look, with the GAP Jager near the top of the list.

    What to cook first?

I second this suggestion, especially if you are new to smoking. Pork butts are very hard to do wrong. In second place, I'd suggest a brisket. Takes a little bit more attention, but in the end hard to mess up. Best thing for me is to have a meat thermometer and to use it. Cook to temps and...

Confession: I like birds. A topic about pigeon fancying.

I could like having some pigeons if I had the place for them. A conservation club I used to belong to had some homers for dog training. Me, the boys, and Hank got a kick out of getting them out of the loft then putting them out for Hank to point. In training Hank, I want some pigeons to shoot...

    Lesser Prairie Chicken

I had both a male and female in the freezer to get mounted. Funds did not allow and I had a freezer mishap. Quite regret not getting those two mounted.
