DKO, I don't know if we are hunting horse or backpack yet, but if I get drawn I will be looking for all the information I can get as to what to pack along. I guess I'll know in about three weeks.
I would say on whitetail I would be comfortable out to forty yards, IF I knew the exact yardage, but I usually don't. All of my shots have been less than twenty five yards.
I can't say much, as I haven't seen them. But it sounds too complicated to me.
My broadheads seem to do just fine on the entry and exits. I will sit this one out.
Have you seen them DKO? What do you think?
Judging from this thread, we may be in trouble Yooper and Thump. I too sent in for the special elk. Did you guys apply for a specific unit? or a GEN tag.
Guys, you have made me realize how unprepared I am in the field. Thanks.
I am, hopefully, going to Wyoming on an elk hunt this year. I need to get more prepared.
DKO,
The Scent Blocker liner I just got is made by a company named Scent Shield. If you look in a Cabelas magazine, they sell both. I think those are the only two out there.
The one I had before, the Scent Loc, was hot. Ideally, you would put that and your outer clothing at your stand...
I realized I didn't answer a couple of questions from DKO.
I guess the experiments I mentioned convinced me they work.
But one other thing. For the most part, I only wear the liner, as my browning suit is extreme conditions, which we haven't had lately.
Therefore, the system is worthless if...
Hey guys,
To answer some questions. That is the only testing I have done, although I have done if on a few occasions(does only). Of course, that type of testing is very unscientific and I haven't done it that frequently, but enough to give myself confidence that they work.
I have both the...
I would probably have to agree with both replys. I absolutely believe they work and work well. I have had dear directly downwind and not smell me and then romoved a portion, and they winded me immediately. I can't say for sure that is why, but it looks like they work to me.
But when they...
Thanks for the input guys.
All in all, it was still the best time hunting I have ever had. BCAT and R/O, your right, I should have mentioned it to the outfitter.
I think the situation occured because the other guide wasn't getting his guys in the elk. I really must say my guide was...
Hey DFA, you can indeed purchase a Moose preference point, for $7.
You have to purchase the point during the same period of time that you would apply for a tag. That would be between Jan 1 and Feb 28.
You can not apply for a tag and buy a poing, it must be one or the other. Also, preference...
This is a long one, but I would appreciate your opinion on the service I received.
About three years ago, I went with an outfitter in Colorado. It was a standard 2 on 1 guided hunt. I got kind of lucky, in a sense, because the other guy I was paired with had to go home on the second day of a...
For those of you that hunt public ground.
Have you ever had people that you have guided, show up in the same areas unguided in the following years? Is it unethical to do so?
Also, do you have hunting spots that you won't take clients to because you don't want them to know about them?
Dont' worry BCAT I am going to be civil here.
BCAT,I agree with you that there has been some controversy. In fact, you and I saw things a little differently on one or two of them, and settled it like adults. But if someone showed up taking shots like this at you, you can bet your arse I'd...
I am with you 100 percent on the technologies on the core componants, such as the bows and broadheads. I bought a new bow last year and started shooting the spitfire broadheads. I absolutely love both.
