My son got his first antelope buck last year and fell in love with hunting antelope. He wanted to put in for doe this year, so we did, and he drew a cool unit here in UT. We had never hunted it but had been in the area and it's a cool place. Yesterday was opening day for the hunt. We got in...
I had a great time in Montana this year chasing antelope with my bow. This buck came into water following a doe and fawn. Shot him at 30 yards. Super happy with him.
It was a short hunt, but I was happy to tag out quickly after a long slog with Mule deer earlier this season.
Actually worse than that if you got one you could get a doe tag and if you add in the north of the river tag there was 12k either sex tags and however many additional doe tags.
About to take a 350 mile one way trip for a doe antelope. Otherwise all my hunts are day hunts within an hour or two drive. Fuel prices aren't going to affect my hunting.
Beautiful sunrises, cool country, and unique critters made for a great antelope hunt with my wife! Oh and MUD. Even though all we got was a doe for her and coyote for me.
I just got my 5 yr old son out for his first hunt - doe antelope. As others said, plenty of snacks, breaks and warm clothes should be the ticket. If she hasn't had a mountain house meal yet, those seem to pique kids interest. Good luck!
Brother and I both drew buck antelope and one son got two antelope doe tags for the same unit. Point creep killed us in the deer draw. Congrats to everyone that drew!
Spent over two weeks in region 7 the last two seasons.
4k doe tags is an extinction level event for the amount of antelope I saw on the landscape.....holy smokes.
Not quite... :) We had seen the 2 does and one buck and snuck in to 200 yards. I got on the buck and Asher got on one doe (Asher had 2 doe tags). I shot the buck and he shot one of the does. Other doe just stood there, so he shot her. As we were gathering up our stuff to walk over, the...
There are 3 places to hunt antelope, Wyoming, Wyoming and Wyoming. I used to live there, hunted antelope like it would never end. Back then buck tags for my home unit were so easy to get and late season doe tags were dealt out like a hand of poker cards.
If you wanted to hunt my old unit, I...
Congrats! Me and my 16 yr old daughter applied for a combo General Deer D tag and got it with 4 points. I got my Pronghorn Buck (45) tag with 6 and then she got 2 doe antelope tags in the adjacent units at 25% odds for each. Feeling pretty good about this trip, this will be her first time out west!
Chased antelope with my 12 year old son this weekend. This is his first season with tags of his own and he was excited to go after bucks. He missed a bigger buck early Friday evening, but we made it happen at last light. Pretty much the same spot that he shot his doe a couple of weeks back haha.
No sheep, goat or bison for me. Still holding out for the coveted whitetail doe tag and an archery antelope plus elk B. There is still hope for something.
