    Threading and chopping a barrel?

Let us know how that new 24" Pac-Nor polygonal works! 😂

    Opinions please!!!

I've got 3 Vortex, 2 Redfields, 1 Tasco, 3 Sightron, 5 Crimson Trace, and a 1980s Simmons. Make that 3 Redfields. I forgot the one that came on the German made Weatherby Mark V Deluxe, circa 1970s? The only scopes I have ever needed to send in for warranty is the Burris Fullfields that I...

For Sale: Weatherby Mark V Fibermark S/S 7mm Wby Mag, NICE!

I'd keep her! You'd have to ship the ammo hazmat. Almost the cost of a new box of ammo. If I didn't already have 3 Mark V's, one in 7mm WBY already I'd definitely be interested! Especially with the price of a new Mark V!! Keep her, shoot her, and tell us the tales!

When ballistics and moa don’t match

At distance, my ballistics calculator is never dead on for the first shot of a new load. I often tweak the BC, and/or the velocity. Nosler ABLR are typically 8-12" higher than the ballistics calculator at 800 yards.

    Threading and chopping a barrel?

@golfer, Justin, personally, I wouldn't do it. It's already a 300WSM. It's gonna be loud! Less so with a suppressor. But still freaking loud. Suppressors have shown to increase muzzle velocity. But not by a huge extent. Which helps with the shortened barrel. But it's still a 300WSM...

What should i get? What shells are good to?

In 20ga I have a Tri Star Cobra II pump. And a CZ 720 gas semi auto. The CZ was the expensive one bought new for $475. The Tri Star new was in the $300 if I remember correctly. Both have beautiful wood! Both came with removable chokes. For doves, you might want to look at the 28ga also...

    A little something different....

As I've mentioned before, IF I decided to get a sshhhhh.. Then it would be a titanium can from Caylee's Cans. At $185, wouldn't need to sell off any guns to afford it.

Could this style of bugle tube work for elk?

The other year while I was archery deer hunting, I heard someone calling with a musical instrument. Trumpet? You could hear the individual notes they were playing as they went up and down in pitch. Nothing answered them back. I think part of it may have been that they were too loud. I was...

    Here's a first

@Redmt, 6.5 Creedmoor does NOT get a roll crimp! Typically no crimp at all. But if you're having accuracy issues with mono bullets, sometimes a taper crimp can help.

    Once fired brass sizing

Personally, if I don't know the person that I'm buying or even being given the brass from, I won't take it. I've been gotten several times with "once fired" for the primers not to stay in. I only buy virgin brass, or from someone I know.

    Do you remember your first?

Oh yeah! I was reloading 7mm Rem Mag with the Lee Wack A Mole style reloader at the dining room table. My girl friend (wife now) put a quick end to that! Lol

    Byrna launcher perspectives wanted

I'm with the others on this. The Byrna will make the tree hugger in you happy. But if it's bodily harm that is intended towards myself or someone I care about, I want to unleash the Hounds of H*** itself!

    It took 15 years...

Yeah, the plan is to debone the meat on site and pack it out. Gotta bring the head along for checking it in. Paperwork was sent to the Game Commission so that the guys helping have the permits they need to be with me. I had to laugh at all 3 of them when they individually asked what rifle...

    Is your wife tracking you?

Well I'm turning the big 60 this year. My wife worries about me hunting alone. Even though I give her coordinates of where I plan to be before I leave the house. I sometimes go to a different spot if the need arises. Or I get a wild hair. I have been known to go several miles from the truck...

    It took 15 years...

Update... Thank You all! Well an update on the goings on so far. I got my elk license and a 2nd doe tag for the area. Friday I got the packet from the Game Commission. Included is the form to send in to get permits for the people that are helping. I have 3 people helping. A friend of...

Old Rifles and Barnes Original Bullets. .277/180 gr RN. 7mm195 gr. RN, 30 cal 250 gr. RN,,,anybody else use them?

When Barnes came out with their original X bullet it was a great bullet! People were saying that with higher velocities that the petals would break off. Causing multiple wound tracks while the base kept driving through. Performed like a Hammer or Cutting Edge of today. Then some idiot...

    7mm-08 load for Weatherby

From my experience with a first gen Vangard. Get rid of it! That is the only rifle in my 60 years that I was glad to see go! If it's not shooting accurately, it'll drive you to drink! And not in the good way! 😉
