At least it's a first for me. I'm loading final loads for depth seating and my final # is 2.735. I use a light roll crimp just to snug it up a little. The roll happens to hit one of the cannelures right at the edge and squirts the bullet out about .015. it took a while to figure that one out as they weren't grouping as expected.

I'm shooting 7mm WBY Mag without a crimp.
Friend shooting 300 Win Mag without a crimp.

45-70 I do a light roll crimp, but my bullets are not cannelured.

6.5 Cm 120 ttsx Barnes. Setting the bullet sometimes feels a bit soft or maybe loser so I got a factory style crimp die
This new load depth puts the mouth of the case right at the bottom of the upper cannelure so a light crimp seemed in order. What was happening is that the light rol crimp being right at the cannelure was squirting the bullet out about .010. I think what I'll do is to turn the neck mandrel stem down about .001/.002 to tighten it up a bit.

Zero crimp needed. It will only cause you headaches and it is completely unnecessary.

6.5 Creedmoor does NOT get a roll crimp!

Typically no crimp at all.

But if you're having accuracy issues with mono bullets, sometimes a taper crimp can help.

It just felt a little bit light seating the bullet. I just took .001 off the inside mandrel in the lathe and it snugged them up. The group s are still holding at .590 to 1" so all is good.
