Update...

Thank You all!

Well an update on the goings on so far.

I got my elk license and a 2nd doe tag for the area.

Friday I got the packet from the Game Commission.
Included is the form to send in to get permits for the people that are helping.
I have 3 people helping. A friend of mine, my daughter's boyfriend, and my neice's boyfriend.

Also included in the packet is 2 vials and a little suction tube thing
for collecting a blood sample.

I found out that I can debone the meat to pack out. But I need to have the head for check in.
Along with Latitude Longitude coordinates of where I shot from and where the elk was.

Scouting is progressing slowly. I have 2 of my 8 cameras set out.
The rest are ready to hang.

I've been to the range several times practicing with field positions. Butt on the ground, my small folding seat with backpack on it to use for a rest.
Ultra Lightweight rifles really are not good for repeated shooting!
Especially Magnums!

I got an adapter for my tripod that holds the rifle. I have yet to try it.

Like I said...way easier just pack it out.
Yeah, the plan is to debone the meat on site and pack it out.
Gotta bring the head along for checking it in.

Paperwork was sent to the Game Commission so that the guys helping have the permits they need to be with me.

I had to laugh at all 3 of them when they individually asked what rifle THEY should bring.
I had to tell them none!
