The money isn't the issue. We just don't have the points to get a decent unit. It's fine. We will elk hunt next year and go for pronghorn in a couple years. -

I don't doubt that the pressure pushes them out of public pretty quickly. I suppose an outfitter is a possibility. I would like to find some private I could pay for access on, but that might not be possible. -

I have thought about it. I went last year on a semi guided cow hunt but that was mostly me getting driven around in the mountains and jumping out to take a shot. This isn't a bad idea though. Possibly do a cow hunt in a unit that I'd like to bull hunt later. Get to know the area. -

Bear hunting magazine podcasts by Clay Newcomb are a great source of information. But from what I've researched, look for mast crop and concentration of bear sign. Look for small breaks in thick cover.- clint0481
