I read that too. Just gross. Timber production is fine and dandy but USFS land is actually MULTI-USE.
I guess that’s a hard concept for developers, portfolio managers, investors, venture capitalists, Project 2025, or whoever is in charge of our country right now.
Chit$ just begun.
Congratulations, that's a dandy bull and those sheds are exceptional. I'm thinking about a guided hunt one of these days. I'm getting old enough that getting a bull out on my own isn't as fun as it used to be!
Had an opportunity on a dandy little 3x3 at last light on Tuesday. A comedy of errors on my part ended with me shooting over his back. Went back yesterday saw more does but thr little buck didn’t make another appearance. I have to work today but will be out there by 3 ready to glass another one...
Thank you.
No way on the full body. That's too rich for my blood. I'm waiting for a free weekend to euro the ram for now. Need to save up for a shoulder mount!
The archery season opened here and someone got a giant green score 455 I dont know how to repost pics but I know folks on here do so maybe someone will for folks to see its a dandy
Last week in Bozeman, I got a couple nice pistols, this week in Kalispell, I find a dandy of a custom rifle in 25-06 caliber. I don’t know who made it yet, but I had Monte Mandarino and Lee Helgeland both look at it and recognize extreme quality in the build. You couldn’t want a much nicer rifle…
...slow for us in B zones. Lots of hot, dry weather with a lot of lions and bears. Our group saw hardly any deer all season. However, I got super lucky and tagged out during bow season on a couple tanks and my daughter got lucky to get her first buck ever during rifle which was also a dandy!
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Even though I have the means,
This won’t be the trip I drop $10k for a guided bull hunt and it might not even be the state that I do as well.
Getting in the draw is first and I what do after that I’m still figuring out. As much as a guided Cow hunt sounds...
...it much on deer, cuz the single shot platform cost me a huge buck...after a shameful miss, so it was my fault! I cannot find ammo for it and since I don't reload...yet, I've shelved it. Recently picked up a 35 Whelen for my "bear gun" as I can find ammo for it. The 338 Federal is a dandy though.
Good story to go with a dandy buck! I always want a good hunt to go with the buck. I really hope I never get out of my truck, walk 20 yards down the trail and look up and there is a giant buck standing there and I shoot it. That would be a letdown of a hunt!
Congrats to you and best of luck...
I've always gone with an outfitter and have killed some dandy whitetails in the SE part of state.
They put a limit on non res tags a few years ago and now lucky to get drawn every 2nd or 3rd year.
Thanks for the pictures it was enjoyable reading about your hunt. Chukar are always a challenge. Some years are exceptional. I hunted Nevada most all my life every Saturday. The best part was watching the dog picking up scent then locking up
