I bought a factory second Boyd’s, for a Savage 110,with a dent on the comb called out. Thought it was no big deal. Bedded it and it seemed to shoot ok. One day I found the action screw loose, so I tightened it and it was like I never could get it solid. Turned out the stock had delaminated or...
My previous post shows the Ontario Rat2. Handy little knife, not sure why they aren’t more popular! Rat1 is kind of a chunky size for a pocket folder but the Rat2 is a bit small for my hands. They came out with an in between as a Rat1.5 that I’ve been meaning to grab. Check them out and try one!
I haven’t been on HT much lately in the last couple weeks. Caught up with this thread! You all are doing well getting after them! Sorry about all the “Likes” 🤣
Hoping to do a little more trapping in the next month before we start guarding around the garden/chicken coop.
I flip between a few different knivea but this is today. Pretty typical for work. I love my Spyderco Endura4 but the Byrd CaraCara2 is much cheaper if I lose it at work. Same size and similar feel. I like the lockbacks more and more because I can open them and close them easily with gloves on...
I used to carry a few half serrated cheapies. Never felt like I had enough plain edge to be useful and most of the serrations sucked. Plus both parts were a pain to sharpen. Went to a plain edge always now that I can actually sharpen and won’t ever go back.
4” barrel will make my hands look bigger.
Actually, I just have kind of settled on 3”-4” revolvers because they are handier for me to have on my belt. The 5.5” is my dream Redhawk that I wanted since I was a teenager. Bought one in my late twenties and just wish I had bought the 4” after...
I have two I regret. Both cheap but could have been useful to me. One was a youth 20ga H&R pardner with maybe a 22” barrel. I got it in a trade for a Marlin 60 and it wouldn’t fire. Gunsmith got it working for me for $100 and I sold it in college for $100.
The other was a Remington Sportsman...
I have about half Dukes, and half NO-BS. Haven’t even scratched the paint of the NO-BS DP’s yet. Dukes have been working good for me, though some of their chains/swivels seem weaker or thinner than should be. Those are pretty easy and cheap to replace though.
Dang, I forgot about how many states hate snaring. Man, snaring rabbits in the snow is so much fun. Snow, shelter belts, and brush piles make snaring rabbits almost like a grocery run!
So you charge for the first opinion but the second one is free? I think I’ll take your second opinion first!
(I might have just transcended the marketplace thread and went straight to the dad joke thread 🤣)
I fought ice along the creek I was trapping more than I thought I would this weekend. Had the time yesterday so I pulled the footholds and DP’s. Left a few 220’s high and dry. I had a plan to run for a couple weeks and try for 15 raccoons. I got one, ha!
