340 Wby for my Dream Hunt!!
I've quite a bit of 340 experience. Personally. I'd have that factory brake cut off and toss it and have a Terminator put on it. As well I'd have it bedded. The 340's always been one of the most accurate rounds out there in guns that are well done. Should be in the 3/4" range for 3 rounds... -
Tell me about fly fishing
I'm a huge fan of TFO, grab their entry level rod in a 9' 5 weight (or something darn close), some SA line double taper WF floating and an inexpensive reel and you'll be golden.- Mato

Black bears spring or fall?
If I had to pick (which gladly I don't have to:)....I'd take spring. Generally a longer window of opportunity for good hunting. IMO- Mato

Boy howdy you're right about impossible some of these lands are impossible to ascend, descend, cross etc. My wife had a permit in there this last fall and we often found ourselves in places impossible to negotiate! Which Caliber for Elk
I'd be all over 117 Hammers in your #1/270. That gun if it's a 1B is a hefty dude (I've had one for years) so I know but the weight will soak up the bump. Load them to 2900-3K and your basically duping a Roberts which is a heck of good elk round when directed properly. My guess is that...
