    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

We did the exact same thing with my sisters old grooming trailer. The trailer was already insulated, just had to add the AC and coolbot.

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

Tin works well for walls and ceiling in not so humid climates and a Coolbot and window a/c might set you back $500. Cement floor , pour it yourself and save some bucks. Put some big cardboard boxes on the floor to catch blood and a drain isn't really needed. Well under $3000 for a cooler. Make...

We built one with an old enclosed work trailer and a coolbot. Works great.

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

Yep, a Coolbot will work great for you. Good time to buy a cheap a/c unit too.

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

I've used a coolbot for 13 years. I use it in the Summer to make ice cream in and in the Fall to hang game.

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

When we built our 40x60 shop with an apartment, also had a 8x10 area with 10" walls built. Bought the Coolbot and put in cross bars to hang quarters from, but before I was able to get the A/C unit and installed my brother-in-law built a cutting room and walk-in from a MacDonalds cooler that was...

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

...to say the same thing. Lots of times they are the whole unit for cheap with a compressor that probably died and no one wanted to fix it. CoolBot route solves that problem easily. Buying one with the panels to put together seems like the way to go. Watch auctions too for restaurant closures...

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

Many of the ones I've seen would be an easy move they are pre built so they can be taken down pretty easy.

    Home-Built Walk-In Cooler?

...in roofing metal for the first 3' of the bottom and then hemlock board and batten above. Has a window unit AC through the wall with a coolbot. We use as a climate controlled garage when it isn't deer season and it works great. My brother owns a slaughterhouse so had access to rail. so it...

    DIY Walk in Cooler Design

I built mine out of reject plywood from work and 2 layers of 2" foam. 5' wide by 8' long and 7' high. Coolbot and a window ac , I can maintain 35° pretty easily. I built a framework into the ceiling with a bunch of hooks for hanging deer and elk quarters.

Pink camo, #dadbodhunter, and a whole lotta stupid!

I was able to grab our 3 door commercial fridge from a business that was transitioning owners, guy listed it on FB market place and I got it for well under half of retail. Cost was a touch under what building a similar sized one with a AC unit/coolbot would cost, and its mobile if I need it to be.

...(painted with Kilz paint for easy clean up) insulated door and all sealed up really well. I plan to cool it with a new air conditioner and a Coolbot controller. I have a concrete pad behind my garage which I can built everything on. Pricing out the cost of materials, for a very ballpark...

We jerry rigged up an old air conditioner before Coolbot was cool. Seems kind of funny that they sell those things for so much money. I think it cost us $20 to rig ours up with a thermostat.

    DIY Walk in Cooler Design

I'm toying with the idea of possibly doing a Coolbot controller on a A/C unit for a seasonal walk-in cooler. Curious if folks here have done such a thing and I'd love to see pictures and hear budget numbers and money saving ideas.

That coolbot seems expensive. I’ve seen some other instructions out there for gutting an old fridge and adding some cheap components to control humidity, temp, and airflow. This was for an interest in making charcuterie, but could work well for just dry aging meat. Google around some for “diy...

    DIY Walk in Cooler Design

Turned an old tool trailer into a walk-in cooler using the Coolbot. It works awesome. Never had a problem keeping it down around 35 degrees. I put 4” of foam insulation on the walls and then had someone spray-foam the floor, ceiling, and a thin coat on the walls to seal them up. I can’t remember...

    DIY Walk in Cooler Design

There was a previous thread in which I commented. I turned a space in my shop to a walk-in fridge/freezer using a/c unit and Coolbot. I am able to maintain a temp of 34 degrees. The point was a place to hang quarters and give me more flexibility when processing instead of being frantic to get it...

    DIY Walk in Cooler Design

Just doesn't work the same. Just buy a used walk-in cooler. You can seriously find them cheap if you are willing to travel a little bit. Look for restaurant closing auctions - some online some in person. I have bought a freezer and 2 walk in coolers doing this. Both coolers I got for $500...
