Hard pass...your wife will use that thing to hang your hide when she smells the place and sees blood stains on everything.
Build something similar line it with something you can hose down and sanitize. Then run a coolbot in it
Joke's on me, as now I have an extra cord or two of wood to collect each year, plus a second fire to tend. The sauna is glorious, though.
I got the idea from the Finns, who would historically use the sauna for bathing, birthing, cleaning the dead, drying or hanging meat, if I understand...
I will be getting into a new house in the spring with a 24x48 shop. I already have insulation, CoolBot, and ac unit purchased for my future walkin. I am thinking about adding a 6X8 lean to off the back of the shop to house the walk in cooler. The main reason for that is the floor is heated in...
...2 x 4 walls sprayed with closed cell...about 2". Installed 2" foam board over all surfaces to include the slab.
Purchased a 12000 btu a/c unit and hooked up the coolbot.
Works like a charm. Got the first critter in there a couple days ago. A few minor gadgetry adjustments but otherwise good...
The coolbot works great, we have one on the ranch we manage. The cooler is only a 4x10 metal add on the back of the barn. Little insulation and it gets down to lower 30's pretty easy on not so hot days.
I would sure lobby hard for a small walk in maybe along that back wall, and have lots of enclosed shelves on the walls.
A Coolbot and even a 4x10 ' area would work very well and minimal insulation would be required. I would point out how much cleaner your processing area will be if you have a...
Any of you built a small walk in cooler? I’m thinking about building an 8x8 cooler and using a coolbot with a window air conditioner. We do enough of our own butchering that I think it would be pretty handy. Plus can use for storage when not needing it for cooler. Have any pictures of your...
Very nice! I still haven't been able to get started on mine other than clearing out the location I want it and a little bit of the framework. The 'rona has kinda gotten in the way of that this year. I've been much busier this year with work than I anticipated, but things are starting to slow...
I built mine last year and the only regret was not doing it sooner. I went with Coolbot and one of their recommended ac units. The system works great, seems energy efficient enough, gets down to temp quickly and stays around 33' . I followed their instructional videos for the most part, used two...
...Walk-In Cooler / Freezer / Insulated room...
I have a set of used Walk-In Cooler panels for sale in the classifieds area.. Combine these with a Coolbot and a little effort and you would have a great cold storage room...
Isn't the coolbot just a thermostat? The problem with window a/c units is that they aren't designed for a constant running temp that low. Its also not efficient. There is a reason the world went to refridgerant and condensing units for keeping things cold.
Just my opinion of course but if I...
