I agree with the majority of people here. 243 is perfect, just keep the shots under 400 yards, preferably 300 or less and you have plenty of energy to kill a mule deer.
Our household has 2 T3xs' 7-08 and a 6.5CM. Girlfriend shoots them both and is dead accurate with them. As others have stated super smooth actions. We did put on aftermarket butt-pads as the stock ones didn't quite do the recoil buffering for her liking. Can't go wrong with a Tikka.
