Back after a long break, I missed y’all!

Just wanted to say that I am looking forward to reading all the posts again, I have been gone for about a year due to life changes. Glad to see things haven’t changed, still the best forum around.

Cigars and other tobacco Related bad habits.

I smoked lucky strikes and chewed copenhagen long cut in highschool and college, and quit after my future wife bet me I couldn't quit cold turkey. I will still buy the occasional can of Hawken chew if I feel the need, but it never really got to be a habit. I still like a cigar now and then, but...

    Bourbon

I knew you were a man of good taste! that is my choice as well, although there is a distillery outside of West Glacier that makes a very good sipping whiskey, I forget the name, but it should have been good at $50 a fifth! To the OP, buffalo trace is good as well. depending on where you are...

250 Sav is a great caliber, another one to consider is a 257 roberts.

Best way to fly/get to to Glasgow, MT

Your other possibilities could be Lewistown, Havre(long drive) or miles city. your best bet would be Billings for cost though.

    Tourniquets

I carry them in my EMT jump kit, but people can misuse them and cause more harm than good. as long as you are trained to use them, go ahead. I prefer the quick ratcheting ones myself.

Does anyone have experience with the .25 ELD-X?

Just curious if anyone has any real world experience with the 110 grain EXD-X bullet in 25 cal? I like the bullet in 6.5 and 7mm, and thought about using it in my .257 Roberts. Thanks

    Flyer with best groups.

I would let the barrel cool between shots and see if that helps.

    Nosler vs Hornady for 270

My brother and I both shoot 143 gr ELDX in our 6.5's, and he has taken 3 or 4 elk with them with great results. I hand load 130 gr SST in my 270 with great results as well.

    DIY paint on rifle stock

They are fairly easy to do, but make sure you practice with the webbing paint first, it can be tricky to get the desired results. I used krylon khaki and finished it with webbing paint and about 5 coats of matte clear coat.
