I'm a sucker for well organized pre-trip equipment photos like this one:

I don't have my shit together quiiiite yet (waiting for my bino upgrade, obviously it's too early for food since we're hunting in September) but figured while we're all waiting with bated breath we could post up some pics of our gear.

Here are some oldies -- this one is from my second year elk hunting (my how the kit has changed)

Here's one for an impromptu ski race:

And a backcountry adventure in Canada:

Anyone else have some nicely organized gear pics?

This will be an interesting thread. I am typically super disorganized so this gives me an opportunity to visually see just how screwed up my pack is. Should be fun. I should have done this years ago. I make up a computer checklist for ever trip but I think actually looking at everything laid out will put things in perspective.

I feel like a person who buys white skis is the same persons who buys flip flops…

“I don’t plan on being chased today”

“I don’t plan on getting extreme”

;)

ha!

They were great skis. The topsheets were probably my biggest beef with them. Never had an issue losing them - there was one time where one went way down into a creek on a spring approach of La Plata but the issue was the willows, not the snow.

I'm now rocking a pair of red DPSes. Much better visibility!

I'm curious @ammo, how many days that would be good for? Specifically on the food end of things? I'm diabetic and this is my biggest trepidation with planning my first backcountry hunting trip (so thanks for the post and helping people out!). Thanks @BearFoot for the food pic! On a 10 day trip do you pack 10 dehydrated meals for dinner? ( I couldn't count 10?) I like the variety but am curious what you do if you "need" more food (other than go back to the truck).
