I watched it, I can't unwatch it.

I spent a summer mining coal on the boarder of West Virginia, with plenty of WV coworkers. I also went on mission trips with my church to Philippi, WV a number of times, which is in one of the poorest counties in the state. I was very unprepared, that was quite the spectacle.

Ah yes, our local heros. To get a little more background you need to watch the original documentary from back in the late 80's early 90's. It's called "The Dancing Outlaw"

Jessco was actually on an old episode of Roseanne back in the mid 90's.

The southern WV coal fields is a hell of place, Boone, Logan, Lincoln, Mingo Counties are all packed with these type of folks. As crazy as they are though, they would help any stranger out like they had been best friends their whole life.
