No doubt I have the western hunting bug, as this year marked my 7th straight year I’ve driven west in search of a big game adventure. This year myself and 3 other Yoopers headed to a new area; the Wyoming Black Hills, for a deer hunt. As with any new area/hunt we spent months preparing, studying Maps, Google Earth, onx, etc. When the time came none of us knew what to expect, but there was one thing we did know; no matter what the outcome, we’d have a great time together and any deer taken would be a bonus. Well none of us were prepared for the volume of deer/buck in the area we chose and all of filled our tags on the same day (one busy day for packing out deer). None of the deer we shot were big by anyones standards, but as always, this was a DIY public land adventure with great friends where memories were made forever.
