Wyoming wolf deal reached,,,,

I posted something earlier about this on an existing thread. There is still lots to be done. I don't think the legislature is currently in session so they will have to call a special session. I also think that Representative Lummis has sponsored some legislation to limit legal challenges to any accepted settlement. There is also the matter of Judge Malloy and his pending ruling involving a constitutional challenge to the "wolf rider". If all the stars align, the wolf wars in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming may soon be over.

In researching this, I found that on July 27, 2011, Rep. Lummis from Wyoming had successfully obtained a rider to the 2012 appropriations bill for the Dept. of Interior that had a "no litigation" clause that would prevent legal challenge to this agreement. The major opponent to the no litigation clause was Rep. Norman Dicks of the State of Washington. An appropriate name. This rider may or may not pass the Senate when they consider it. If not, Wyoming should anticipate legal challenges from the eco-elites.

And in the "EAST"....wolf huggers are challenging MN, WI, MI proposals claiming two separate sub-species should keep FWS from turning over mgmt to States....ESA needs some serious tinkering!!
