Wyoming Unit 42

Hi, My buddy and I are taking his son on his first western hunt and drew unit 42 buck and doe tags this year. I have been over the maps (onx, google earth) but just wondering if anyone has any boots on the ground experience or tips for that unit. Any info would be much appreciated.

make sure you have a good map. lots of private and public mixed together. you can get around well just have to be careful. You will see lots of people just how that area is. I know a few landowners will let you hunt but you have to stop and knock on some doors. Have seen some good goats. Good luck.

Get a permit for one on the HMAs or look into the walk in area. Good bucks up there and access is not hard.

When are you going?

We'll be there 2nd week of October. Between the HMA, the WIAs and the small public chunks, there looks to be plenty of access.

Thanks for the advice. We got permission for the HMA. i agree access looks pretty good.
