I've been fortunate to be able to head to WY each fall for antelope, deer or both since 2007. For deer, I've hunted either Region Y or C and the same for antelope with the exception of an unit 63 draw hunt in 2008.
I've always purchased leftover tags; thus, I've accumulated maximum deer points. I'd like to ask the opinion (of those willing to share) of fellow Hunt Talkers on the late mule deer hunts (areas 105, 119, 120, 125 and 128) Wyoming offers. I'm looking for a hunt where I'll encounter numerous buck each day and have the opportunity to harvest a mature deer. I'm not interested in score, just a fun hunt where I can have the opportunity to let the air out of a heavy horned old buck.
Just for informational purposes, the ranches I hunt in Region Y and C offer great hunting, but there are enough hunters allowed on the ranches that it is rare to harvest a mature deer (4.5 years or older). I'll be looking forward to what you WY experts have to say. Thanks!
