Handgun hunting is like a game of golf. You can play the whole course with a 2 iron but it sure is easier with a bag full of options where you can pick the right club for the shot.

It’s an xp100 action. Mcmillan stock, krieger barrel, harrel brake, trued and bedded action, and so on.
Custom handgun is my day job.

I wasn't sure if you or someone else was redoing the bolt handle on 700 or model 7 actions and making "new" xp100s. Looks dang nice! Show us some of your favorites, we dig gun porn on here!

You’ll see pictures of what I hunt with through the season.

I pack in and hunt just like many of you do. I just leave the long gun at home.

I reckon in short. I like handguns, I like hunting inside the animals “window” where they have a better chance, and in many situations I actually find them easier.

Don’t worry, I’ll post gear and hunt pics through the season. Right now I’m just cow elk hunting and the winds just have not worked out. And one time I had a satellite bull get in the way.....one little rise blocking me from an easy 80 yard shot on the cows.

If your wondering....I’m running the same smith and wesson 629 44 mag you see in this thread with the white tail...that whitetail was taken at 174 yards in the black hills of Wyoming with a 240 grain Sierra.
My max distance for elk is 125 yards. Only change to the gun is it now wears a Leupold Delta point.

Why I choose leupold....well in my eyes they are top shelf for the handgun world. Plus...they are made in America. It’s hard to say you stand for US workers then go buy something imported.
