Last weeks public land elk experience.
Little afternoon hunt. One picture shows the elevation I climbed from the valley road. You will see a far away bull elk picture. Bedded around him is 7 antlerless elk. So I put my sneak on. A smaller bull which you will see in the close up pics was North of the group and I didn’t know that until I was committed. The cows were 80 yards away. I even saw their ears over the finger. This bull was curious and came within 25 yards. Ended the hunt. But a cool experience.
Nothing like trying to get close with a wheelgun.
You will also see the Miles logged for the day....I didn’t get in the woods till 330pm.
