I am looking for some intelligence on unit 38 in the Bighorns. I have enough points to draw and would like any feedback from those who have drawn the tag previously and their experience.

Good unit! I haven't hunted it, but have been in it a few times---lots of elk and people with tags because of the easy access to a lot of it. IMHO the best time to hunt any of the units in the Big Horns is in September with archery equipment.

Seriously though. From your website it looks like you're set up to go get em and I say go for it!! Get off'n the beaten path and put a hurt on em... away from roads/people/etc but you already know all that.
I'm basically in the same boat as you this year...committed to hunting WY elk and scared of winterkill :/
