Im wanting to start building points in Wyoming, but after looking at the application I was wondering if you have to pay the full price of permit or just a drawing fee? And can you just buy preference points?

Wyoming has a point only period that starts in September, I think it is.

The preference points will cost you about 30-40 bucks more than the application fee, but you have to front the tag fee until they draw and refund your account if unsuccessful.

You can now only buy a PP from 7/1-10/31, as they have discontinued buying a PP during the application period for a license between 1/1-5/31. Too many people thought if you paid for the PP during the license application that it was good for that draw when it's not good until the following year. Antelope is $31, deer is $41, and elk is $52.

I didnt realize that is why they switched it. Makes sense I guess.
