I am planning a Wyoming pronghorn trip for next fall with 4 buddies, our first choice will be unit 92. 3 of us have 1 preference point and the other 2 have none. I'm wondering if this size group will limit our chance of drawing, or if we even qualify.
Also, I don't know much about the 92 unit. The WY fish and wildlife site's stats are confusing me a bit.... Am I reading that only 8 non resident buck tags were available last year? Is this a tough unit to draw?
If anyone has a suggestion on a better bet in that area, please let me know.
Thanks

Try the wyoming game and fish website. Look under hunting, then draw odds.

But, I'll give you a hand this one time, you're PP will be averaged so you'll each have <1 point.

I think you're screwed in the PP draw, looks like those with 3 points only had a 1:3 chance in the cheapy tag PP draw:

092 1 any antelope
27 14 4 14 100.00%
13 2 < 4 2 100.00%
11 11 3 31 35.48%
0 < 3 201 0.00%

Going with the special tag fee you'd still be hosed, nobody drew with less than a point:

092 1 any antelope 18 1 3 1 100.00%
17 3 < 3 3 100.00%
14 9 2 9 100.00%
5 4 < 2 4 100.00%
1 1 1 14 7.14%
0 < 1 35 0.00%

Your random draw odds, your only chance at a tag will be:

Regular draw: 8/221
Special draw: 6/48

Thanks Buzz.

I see how that spread sheet works now. You're right, it doesn't look too promising..... There's plenty of other units though! Thanks again!

Lots of good units in Wyoming that take no points to draw.

Another thing to consider is that if you draw your second choice, you get a tag...and a point.

Also, there will be a lot of leftover permits in some decent areas as well.
