WY elk 2025 draw results

Wyoming random draw and I have a longstanding disagreement … nothing for three apps all with insufficient points for W general regular.

This feels amazing! I’ve struck out in elk tag draws for 4 years now! This year my Sept is full with MT Breaks archery and WY Gen W! I’ve never had 2 elk tags in 1 year!…should be a fun Sept! 4 years of nothing but now I have a logistical nightmare…I’ll take it!

Hardly a nightmare. Just enjoy the ride and do what you can when you can.

Had a decent chance for a cow tag, got nothing. Here it is late May and I'm 0 for 20+ in the draws, and NV is probably not going to help.

same boat - 0-35 for my wife and I this year so far. First time Memorial Day is going to hit and we not have at least 1 hunt planned for the fall. 6 apps in CO (really only 1 with a chance), 2 deer apps in AZ, 3 apps in ID for myself and then SD is all that remains. The chance of having something for this fall lined up on a drawn tag is quickly diminishing!

Should be a busy week in Oct., two buddies drew LE Bull tags and both got cow tags as well. I picked up a cow tag in same unit.
My first year with 2 elk tags (Wy & Mt), and retired now, life is very good!

Region S Gen: 29% w/ 5 pts
Region E Gen: 34% w/ 2 pts

The draw odds were not helped by the endless “content” on Wyoming this spring. Every influencer on the interwebs kept persuading the public to put in. And many of those guys even talked up the general tag specifically. I think these draw odds popped the Covid bubble theory

Swing and a miss for my son and I. Hopefully Colorado is good to us on bear draw if nothing else. Time to get pronghorn and deer apps in.

If I'm looking at the numbers right, last year there was a total of 2,664 applicants in the special draw for the 3 general regions compared to 2,676 this year. An increase of 12.

There was some shifting out of the West region to East and South I think chasing the better odds from the year before.

Still compared to previous years an increase of a whopping 12 applicants seems like there may be some hope for things to slow down at least.

Odds were pretty good on the private land only tags we applied for but not 100%. 2024 it was 69% with zero points. Of course the year before that it was OTC and I didn't catch the change to being a draw so I missed applying. The way our luck has gone in the draws the last few years I'm just hoping that one of us will draw!

Yahoo, a 75 year old geezer who is in good shape, a 100 year old cartridge, and 12 years of applying. I drew a bull tag unit 108. Now the work begins; get in the best shape possible, shoot a lot under stressed conditions and enjoy every minute.

Got the tag I've been chasing for a few years! Finally get to chase elk in Wyoming! Wyoming has been kind to me with antelope and deer tags in the past so really looking forward to trying to complete the Big 3 in Wyoming!
