WTB - Affordable rifle - CO front range

My good friend wants to get into hunting after I took him on a hunt last year.

He's looking for an affordable rifle (Savage/Ruger American range) north of Denver (but he's mobile and can meet at your local FFL).
Nothing fancy needed as he's looking for his first rifle he can beat around. Open to most common big game calibers. If the rifle is scoped already he'd be interested in the whole set up.

There are a lot of good new rifles that are inexpensive. Also, there are shops that deal in used guns. Your friend should check out Gunsport in Boulder (yes, Boulder...). They have a ton of new and used rifles with and without scopes. Pricing seems to be reasonable as well. As a side note, they reserve some ammo for people who buy guns so they can actually use them. Pretty handy in this day and age..
