Woodworking Hunt Talkers?

Well it is a possibility, other things need to happen first though, like cleaning the barn shop out and fixing the electrical so I can have a place to use it. But nothing is happening until the "adults" in congress pass something to get me paid for the last month and half.
Sorry to hear that your paycheck is being F-ed with.

The good side is that our elected officials are enjoying a 2 week paid vacation while the US employees are being held as bargaining pawns.

I have been tempted to go into mass production but I really think it would take all the fun out of it. It would cease to be a hobby and turn into work. Work is one of the things that make me enjoy hobbies. Being good at something is akin to having a pickup truck, people find you useful, Ha!
I do think your egg stands are sweet.

Sorry man. I’ve been there too.

I had a friend invite me to watch him build a lightsaber at Disneyland. It was fun and I was happy to be a part of it. I'm a big fan of Star Wars and on top of that I figured I could build him a nice display stand. I always like to have a reason to make something.

He designed the overall size and functionality and I offered him a bunch of different types of wood I had on hand. He picked a piece of plum wood that came from a tree that grew in my dad's backyard.

The wood is so rich with character. I finished it with some tung oil and added the words Protection and Defense in the Star Wars Aurebesh alphabet to each end. I was planning on woodburning it, but I felt like my skills might not be up to the challenge. So I had it cut out in vinyl with a cricket type machine.

It turned out really nice. Kinda makes me want to make a light saber for myself just so I can make another on of these display stands.

Another guitar built. This one is a 1/4 inch top of Black Ash crotch I milled from my land. PXL_20260424_050356881.jpgPXL_20260424_050323966.MP.jpgI glued to popular. I built it for a friends wife. The logo is her last name and has a little metal flake in it. the body area has a light red and black flack too, but it will show up in pictures and looks more like dust with my camera.1000006983.jpg1000006976.jpg1000006981.jpg1000006979.jpg

Very cool. That grain almost has an electric vibe, begging to be plugged in.
For a second I was scratching my head, ...Schmalts McCumber is an original ( odd) name.

Woodworker delivered the leopard pedestal this past week. He used 100+ year old black walnut from an old homestead. It’s not African ironwood but I like the finished look.

I am still waiting on the full-body leopard mount from the taxidermist. Should be fairly soon…Happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.
