Alright y'all - it's been awhile since Mr.Ammo and I have done a cook-off. Tonight friends are hosting a "wild harvest"-off where there will be 3 meat competitors (myself, Mr.Ammo, another hunter-friend) and a handful of "harvest" competitors (ie vegetables?!).

  • On deck I have an elk sausage ravioli with a brown butter toasted hazelnut sage sauce
  • Mr.A is cooking a thai elk medallions in curry
  • Hunter3 - I have on good authority is making his signature elk tartare
  • Veggie people....no idea.
Will post drool worthy photos and competition updates as events warrant. May the tastiest dish win!

That sounds fantastic.

Now you’ve got me thinking- what would I cook for something like this? Stroganoff? Osso buko? Meatballs? Chile Colorado? So many choices.

Your kids wouldn’t think it was dinner if you weren’t simmering the skull in your wife’s roaster oven.

well, we all have the list of things we do during skull boiling that only occur when one's wife goes to the gym, don't we?

Hoping (not really) a good tag soup recipe will be unveiled. I'm starting to run out of ideas...!
