What’s the specs, what are you shooting out of it, and is it all the rage?

I’m seeing the el-cheapo option is with the howa mini, but a finer custom rifle might be tweaked into a dream to shoot at any range.

Swapping the barrel outta my 6.5 Grendel. It’s an ar platform. Same every thing else. Using the seirra 100 grain pro hunters. It’s a good option for smaller animals.

Have owned one of the Howa minis in 6arc. Fun cartridge just not a fan of the rifle platform. Now with tikka coming out with 6creed that’s the route I’ll be going next

I have the Howa Mini with the 20" heavy barrel. Mine shots the 70HH at 3250 with a full case of H335. Haven't shot anything with that load yet, but have with the 87AH at about 3000.

I also have a Howa mini. Shooting 95gr TMKs on top of benchmark. Fun to shoot and probably going to be my primary rifle for sub 200 yd deer hunting

I have a howa mini in 6mmARC 20" heavy barrel. It started as a barreled action and I added a cheap Boyds at one stock. I chose the heavy because it has 5/8x24 threads for my suppressors.

I shoot 106gr TAP bullets over CFE223 at around 2550fps. I had hoped for a bit more speed based on other's load data but my rifles chamber is possibly not completely concentric and hit pressure early. I also get the infamous Grendel belt after a couple sizings even if I keep the loads down. I bought a special die to help reduce the issue but overall I'm not excited about the rifle as much as I used to be.

I have shot 3 whitetail at around 200 yards. The 106 TAP bullet is a cup and core bullet with an internal interlock that did a fantastic job of killing and I would have no issues stretching shots out further on deer sized animals

The Howa barreled actions have nearly doubled in price since I bought mine only 3 years ago. I'd probably fondle a Ruger American to see if that option may be a better choice

I have 2, and 18in AR and Mini Action with the 20in carbon barrel. I have no complaints with them. If i was to do it all over again I'd probably go with a short action and maybe bump to a 6CM. I'm not sure I see the benefits of the miniaction and I build a short action with lighter components.

That being said, with factory ammo, both my 6arc shoot with simular or better ballistic at 500yrds as my father in laws 243 with less recoil.

I killed a mature ND muley last year right 400yrds with factory 103eldx and had no issues.

I don’t own one, but I’ve recommended them (and 22 Arc’s) to a bunch of people who don’t handload.

What kinda blueprint, and what are you looking to do with it?

if one has to worry about recoil then the rifle specs are wrong. i use a winchester mod 70 in 300 wsm and it shoots pretty tame for a magnum, im only 65 kg and 77 yrs of age.
a 20 inch barrel is not user friendly.

I’m thinking of shooting heavy bullets if I were to have one put together - Maybe a defiance action in a nice chassis.

Just an all around fun gun for busting rocks and for deer and antelope also.

I'm not in to the PRC Creed craze but it seems the 6 Creed is a much better alternative. Just from a cartridge standpoint. mtmuley

Why so? I’m looking for maximum efficiency, light weight, high performance and zero recoil. Aside from a higher velocity potential- what’s better about the 6 creed? I reload also.

If I was going to hunt with one, I would choose the Creed. But I have a .243, so I'm good. mtmuley

The 6arc have an 18in and 20in and shoot just fine... The 243 has a 24in, if I recall correctly... I didn't say the recoil was bad... Just that the 6arcs have less...

They are like cars... a 70s chevy and 2026 chevy can get were you're going, one of them will just do it more efficiently and comfortably...

I’m going to pick my own barrel and twist if I do this.

They seem cool for someone who wants a factory ammo capable option with minimal recoil, max barrel life, and sufficient ballistics to get out to reasonable distances. I'd just be hard pressed to choose one over a 6 BR/Dasher if the intention is to shoot nearly all handloads. Wouldn't need a one off bolt face to work with a BR based cartridge either.

It seems like the guys wanting to push the heavy bullets in a 6 ARC often lean heavily on non-temp stable ball powder to get there. A modest load of varget/h4895 or similar in a BR based case to get the same performance sounds more desirable than having to push on it.
