I ran in to this guy at work on Wednesday. Kind of unique genetics in these deer with the split G2's.

Any guesses? All the whitetail bucks I've killed h in MT have had been between 16-17 ear to ear spread for reference.

He and his momma must be a little confused. Hanging out with a muley, no brows, and forked G2's.... Maybe mom liked exotic guys?
mid 140's gross. Crazy thing is he looks like a really young deer with his short nose. Did you get a look at his tail? You said "these deer" the other buck is a muley for sure

glad I'm not going crazy...was wondering what he was seeing that I wasn't

Looks like a cross breed. A little whitetail and a lot of muley. Got small ears and a short nose.

I can see why after you study him a bit that a person would think that there is a little whitey in him, But the buck would get scored as a muley for sure. I would guess he's 140-150. Great Pics thanks for sharing.

He's 100% muley and my sense of humor is a lot funnier to me and my cat it seems.

His ears are probably 20-21 across. I think he's 29-30 wide and would score low 170's. Yea or nay? He does look young though.

I figured you were just being funny.

I don't see his ears being 22 inches wide. I know that is kind of the norm for a mature buck, but I killed a buck in NM that was 19 inches tip to tip. He looked much wider than he is becuase he is almost three inches wider than his ears on both sides and he is a hair wider than 24 inches. I'm going to guess this buck is about 26 to 27 inches wide. Maybe someone else will disagree with me on the ears, but to me they just don't look that wide.

Hopefully this is a buck you have an opportunity to go after, he is a dandy.

You could very well be right. His body looks big but his head and ears really don't.

I'm basing my numbers off of his ears being 20-21 inches.

Im saying low150...no g1's and very light on mass....he is still in velvet and is not impressive in the mass dept but he has good main beam length...IMO its a tough one to score....Id say shoot him and let the taxidermist score him.....

My Dad has 2 on the wall around that size.
His missing eye guards and mass I think isn't what you think it is I think he may hit 160 to 165 but that is assuming he gets a main beam of 24 inches to give him 24 inside spread. Without that he is under 160 more like 150 - 158.

Is this the kind of joke like the ones where a rancher's horse gets shot by a hunter he gave access to, when the hunter thought it was an elk? Or the moose seemingly every year getting mistaken for elk in CO? Or maybe its just the guy with pictures of a Muley on a baited trail cam, and asking what the whitetail scores...

He look like a mule deer to me. Could have a little whitetail in him though since his ears are a little bit shorter than most. I would guess he scores around 150"
