Anyone have info on Whiskeytown Lake area for deer/bear? Planning on getting both an B zone archery tag and bear tag for 2020.

I know there was a ton of bear sign around Whiskeytown, per my aunt and uncle.

My first and last bear I killed was on Bowerman Ridge on the N side of Trinity Lake about 13 years ago. Most of the deer I saw were in the Trinities, which also has a ton of bears.

We rented a house on Whiskeytown Lake one year when we shot Redding Trail Shoot. It looks like it was lost in the Carr Fire though. Sorry has nothing to do with your post...just hearing the name brought back a lot of memories.

Yeah it’s really sad. Living in NorCal I don’t have to go far before you run into someone that was directly touched by the fires. Things are starting to turn around a bit. Hopefully the wildlife have recovered as well. Thanks for the post
