I'm only a few chapters in, but it's good so far. I read Gulag Archipelago a few years back. This story, and some of the stories in that book, are very similar.

About half way through Cry Havoc, by Jack Carr, author of The Terminal List series, featuring the father of James Reese. Set in Vietnam, in the days of Tet and MACV-SOG. Had a good friend that was in SOG and it rings true.

Stellar book about hunting for mountain goats in the early 1900s in southern BC. Hornady is a good story teller and comes across as a better naturalist and conservationist than pretty much every contemporary author. He also comes across as more genuine. Great read, highly recommend it. The black and white photos are also very impressive.

I finished it a few weeks back. It's definitely worth reading. The first part about interrogation and imprisonment in Siberia matched other stories and books I've read. It still blows my mind. The second part about their escape shows you just what the human body is capable of. It's not written to make the story teller look like a hero, but it's just a great testament to their determination.
