Some I liked to round out the band threads:

Neil Peart (Rush)
John Bonham(Led Zeppelin)
Keith Moon (The Who)
Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa)
Dave Lombardo (Slayer)
Ian Paice (Deep Purple)
Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy Osbourne)
Vinnie Colaiuta (Zappa)
Bill Ward (Black Sabbath)
Ainsley Dunbar (Jeff Beck)
Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden)
Mike Shrieve (Santana)
Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix)
Steve Smith (Journey)
Phil Collins (Genesis)
Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews)
Jimmy Chamberlain (Smashing Pumpkins)

Neal Pert without a doubt is the best of the best
Moon was good too

Buddy Rich (I met him once -SCARY talent)
Ginger Baker
Hal Blaine
Cozy Cole
Tony Williams
Billy Cobham
Mel Taylor (the Ventures)
Neil Pert (who'da thought anyone so good could come from Canada?)
Mitch Mitchell
Terry Bozzio (I think he might have sat in for one of our sets)

DD...you play with Gene Krupa too?:D

J/K...don't forget Artimus Pyle (great name for a southern rock band sync-keeper)

Man, I aint THAT old!! NHY, I returned your PM.
Forgot a couple of skin pounders:
Carmine Appice (saw him live once: KILLER.)
Charlie Watts (less is more)
Jim Gordon (sorry to hear he's in a psyco ward somewhere out here)

NHY -I would have included Pyle too, but -correct me if I'm wrong about this- I heard that he's a kid-toucher.

Never saw anyone better then John Bonham. No wonder Led Zeppelin broke-up after he died, he was irreplaceable.

Also, if you remember the band Montrose - Denny Carmassi, a fellow Bay Area boy was an awesome drummer.
