This isn't just for elk but for any western big game animal. If going on an public land OTC archery meat hunt, what would be your first choice? What state and animal(s)
Just curious on everyone's opinions.
If I wanted to hunt closest to where I live, CO cow elk, scenic terrain and fewer hunters, WY cow elk, thrill and challenge of the pursuit, NE (or CO/WY) antelope.
I’d go to eastern Montana this week and stack up 5 muley does and then when the General season ends Sunday, head to the Central part of the state and shoot some poor old cow elk in the shoulder hunt that is trying to get through winter after being hunted the last 3.5 months.
I think I could accomplish most of this without having to walk much.
