Go this forky near Morton on the late buck late season. Spotting him with his head down following a scent trail in the jack firs. Quick 100 yard chip on the moving buck got it done. Big body for a 2 point 👊🦌

Congrats on a great Blacktail, never easy to get your hands on one. I’m starting year 5 in MT , I sure don’t miss that thick nasty no visibility crap ass swamp forest coast range. But I do cherish the hunting memories with my friends
 
I hunted coastal blacktails within northern California for many years. The antlers of mature bucks grow thick but not many points compared to Sierra Mountain muleys. Thanks for sharing! TR
 
Congrats! That brought back some memories. The NF around and east of there used to be such fantastic hunting back when they were still cutting it.
