I know this is a strech, but here goes...

My son was in a tragic accident a month ago and I've been by his side basicaly since the incident. I now find myself in Engelwood Colorado, he is a patient at Craig Hospital. Before anyone rolls there eyes, I'm not asking for anything, it was a work injury and so far insurance has stepped up at every level. We've been here 2 days and is an amazing place.

I'm in a new town, with no transportation, no family, and frankly I've been a little overwhelmed by hospitals for the last 30+ days. I'm here for my boy, he's 19, and I'll do what ever it takes for as long as it takes.

What I would like is some advice on an outdoor store or 2 that I might find nearby to Craig. I'd really like to just spend an hour or 2 talking to someone about hunting. I've learned alot about tramatic brain injuries in the last month, I really just need a small break to divert my mind to something pleasurable.

Reading Hunt Talk has helpped, but I thought a few shared hunting stories might be just the distraction I need. Anyway, any advice or guidance is appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your son's accident, I hope all works out for the best on that account. It's been so long since I left Denver that things have changed drastically so can't help you there but someone should weigh in soon with some suggestions.

Sorry about the your son, hope he heals up soon. I'm a few years removed from the Denver area, but here's a few that are not too far from Englewood.

Sportsmans Warehouse - Sheridan - about 10 minutes from the medical center

Cabelas - Lone Tree - one of their smaller stores, probably 20 minute drive if not rush hour

Bass Pro - a little farther, but one of their larger stores

Not really hunting, but there's an REI in Englewood if you just want to browse maps, outdoor gear, books, etc.

If you like grease gut Mexican chow, there's a Santiago's in Englewood. Carnitas burrito smothered with green chile is pretty good.

I'll post up if any others come to mind
