Unit 24 Muzzleloader Expectations

Girlfriend should be pulling a unit 24 muzzy tag this year. Main question I have is what to shoot it with. I have never been in love with muzzleloaders but I want her to have a good rut experience and she doesn't bowhunt. Any thoughts/ideas/feedback would be great in regards to loads or the hunt itself

I should mention we have the gun with a peep already installed. Looking for the bullets and the powder recommendation

Look in the muzzleloader section, lots of threads over there. I use 300 grain Thor with 110 grains of powder.

A good fitting Thor has worked wonders for me

Is it necessary to do the sizing pack for those Thor bullets? Shooting an Omega V2

I just got the CVA Optima not sure how good it is to take down a mule deer. Are experienced muzzleloaders that can throw some tips?

Little update. She got the tag. We now have a tub of blackhorn, a new breech plug, 30 300 gr thors in .500 and a Williams precision sight on the way. Anyone interested in sharing some inside on units 12/23/24 feel free to message me. Now just got to get her shooting and keep hitting the gym
